Talent Development and Advanced Academics
Every student has untapped brilliance that can be nurtured through meaningful enrichment and challenge. At St. Louis Park Public Schools, each elementary school has two Talent Development Teachers who provide gifted and advanced learning opportunities for students in grades K–5.
Our approach is strengths-based and culturally responsive, ensuring students experience enrichment that builds on their talents and potential – not just remediation of gaps.

Specialist Programming
Students participate in a four-day rotation that includes:
- Talent Development (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics – STEAM)
- Music – 50 minutes
- Physical Education – 50 minutes
Students also attend Media once every eight days, where learning is integrated in collaboration with classroom teachers.

Language and Cultural Learning
Students explore three languages and cultures through 10-week rotations at Peter Hobart, Susan Lindgren and Aquila:
- Spanish
- Ojibwe
- Arabic
Park Spanish Immersion offers Spanish-English dual immersion learning.
These experiences broaden students’ global awareness while strengthening communication and cultural understanding.
