Each summer, high school students serve as researchers through the Youth Data Analysts (YDA) program. This is a learning and internship opportunity put on by the Assessment, Research, and Evaluation department. These students analyze data and make recommendations that help guide district decision-making.
YDA findings are woven directly into each school’s Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP), ensuring student voice is at the center of improvement efforts across the district.
This year, YDA focused on cultural competence and identity in the classroom. Their recommendations highlight the importance of strengthening two-way communication between teachers and families with feedback loops and check-ins. These student-driven insights are now helping shape instructional practices districtwide.
