Welcome from the Principal
Introduction
I am María Graver, and I am honored to join this dynamic community. As Aquila’s principal, I look forward to partnering with you in celebration and support of all of our learners. I am so excited to listen, learn and grow in this thriving community. Together, we will continue to weave the fabric that makes Aquila, and St. Louis Park, so special.
A Chicago native, I first came to Minnesota to attend Carleton College. After graduating, I was lucky enough to teach and learn in Washington, D.C. and Tucson, AZ; before completing an M.A.T. at Roosevelt University, and returning to teach here in Minnesota. I earned an Ed.S. at Concordia University, and became an administrator in 2016. Throughout my career, and at my core, is a strong commitment to racial justice.
As an educator, I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages, and have found my heart and home in elementary education. Strong relationships with families, students and staff members are central to my work, and I hope to have the opportunity to collaborate and connect with each of you. Every family is important to our school’s climate and culture, and it is my goal to ensure that you feel connected to the Aquila community.
Please feel free to reach out to me at graver.maria@slpschools.org or by phone at 952-928-6502.
In partnership,
María Graver
