Authentic Community Engagement

We are collectively responsible for partnering with our staff, families, and communities to support and enhance each learner’s growth and success.

Racial Consciousness and Cultural Competence

Recognizing and valuing our different backgrounds strengthens our ability to inspire and engage each student and staff member to reach their full academic potential and cultivate a sense of belonging.

High Expectations

We will raise the bar and build a legacy. We believe in setting and reaching achievement goals that help each student and staff achieve their full potential.

Welcome from the Principal

Introduction

I am María Graver, and I am honored to be a part of this dynamic community. As Aquila’s principal, I am your partner in the celebration and support of all of our learners. I love to listen, learn and grow with each in this thriving community. Together, we will continue to weave the fabric that makes Aquila, and St. Louis Park, so special.

A Chicago native, I first came to Minnesota to attend Carleton College. After graduating, I was lucky enough to teach and learn in Washington, D.C. and Tucson, AZ; before completing an M.A.T. at Roosevelt University, and returning to teach here in Minnesota. I earned an Ed.S. at Concordia University, and became an administrator in 2016. Throughout my career, and at my core, is a strong commitment to racial justice.

As an educator, I have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages, and have found my heart and home in elementary education. Strong relationships with families, students and staff members are central to my work, and I hope to have the opportunity to collaborate and connect with each of you. Every family is important to our school’s climate and culture, and it is my goal to ensure that you feel connected to the Aquila community.

Please feel free to reach out to me at graver.maria@slpschools.org or by phone at 952-928-6502.

In partnership,

María Graver

Every Student. Every Story. Give to St. Louis Park Public Schools today!

Behind every dollar is a story: a student who found confidence on stage, a team that learned resilience, a classroom that found joy in curiosity. This campaign is about keeping those stories going.

A $25 donation might cover art supplies for a classroom project. $100 could help fund student wellness kits. $250 might support a student internship placement. Each act of giving ripples outward — inspiring others, fueling programs, and opening doors for learners across our district. No matter how you give, you’re helping every student thrive beyond the classroom.

Together, we can reach our $100,000 goal and continue to ensure that every St. Louis Park student has access to the opportunities, resources, and relationships that help them become their best selves.
